CS2 Entry Fragger Guide

Master the Most Aggressive Role in Counter-Strike 2

High Impact Aggressive Updated Apr 2026

What is an Entry Fragger?

The Entry Fragger is the tip of the spear - the player who enters sites first, takes the initial duels, and creates space for the team. This role demands elite aim, fearless aggression, and the ability to turn unfavorable situations into opening kills. Entry fraggers dictate the pace of T-side rounds and are often the difference between successful site takes and failed executes.

Entry Fragger Role Overview

Primary Responsibilities

  • Get opening kills: Create man advantages by winning first duels
  • Clear angles: Check and eliminate common holding positions
  • Create space: Force rotations and open up the map
  • Trade bait: Make yourself killable so teammates can trade
  • Set tempo: Control the speed and aggression of executes

Key Characteristics

Fearless Aggression

Never hesitate. Confidence in taking duels is critical.

Elite Aim

Must win 50%+ of first duels to be effective.

Map Knowledge

Know every angle, peek, and common position.

Communication

Call utility used, positions held, and damage dealt.

Reality Check: Entry fraggers often have negative K/D ratios (0.9-1.1) because they die first frequently. Your impact isn't measured by kills alone - it's measured by space created and sites opened. A successful entry fragger with 15-20 kills but 20-25 deaths can be more valuable than a lurker with 25-10 stats.

Essential Entry Fragging Skills

1. Peek Mechanics & Pre-Aiming

Entry fraggers must master various peeking techniques to win opening duels. Pre-aiming common positions is mandatory - you should know exactly where enemies typically hold before you even peek.

Wide Peeking

Peek 2-3 player models away from wall to maximize peeker's advantage. Forces defenders to adjust crosshair placement.

Use when: Pushing sites, clearing angles, taking aggressive duels

Jiggle Peeking

Quick peek to gather info or bait AWP shots. Counter-strafe immediately back to cover.

Use when: Checking for AWPers, baiting utility, gathering information

2. First Bullet Accuracy

Entry fraggers live or die by first-shot accuracy. You rarely get second chances. Practice one-taps and bursts relentlessly.

Training Routine:

  • 10 mins daily: Aim Botz one-taps (focus on first shot only)
  • 15 mins daily: Prefire maps for common positions
  • 20 mins daily: Headshot-only FFA Deathmatch
  • Focus on head-level crosshair placement at all times

3. Angle Clearing & Slicing

Clear angles methodically - "slicing the pie." Never expose yourself to multiple angles simultaneously. Check one position at a time.

Angle Clearing Priority:

  1. Close corners first: Clear tight angles before committing
  2. Common positions next: Default spots enemies hold 80% of time
  3. Off-angles last: Unusual positions after common ones cleared
  4. Communicate: Call what's clear so teammates can focus elsewhere

4. Utility Usage & Timing

Entry fraggers typically use utility to enable their own entry rather than setting up teammates. Flash yourself in, smoke off angles, molly common positions.

Self-Flashes

  • Flash before peeking to blind defenders
  • Learn pop-flashes for every entry point
  • Peek immediately after flash pops
  • Assume enemies are blind - play aggressive

Entry Smokes

  • Smoke off crossfire angles
  • Isolate duels to 1v1 situations
  • Don't over-smoke - need vision too
  • Coordinate with support player smokes

Entry Fragger Loadout Guide

Weapon Choices

Primary: AK-47

Why: One-shot headshot potential at any range. Perfect for entry fragging.

Alternative: SG 553 (scoped, easier spray)

Secondary: Glock/Deagle

Why: Glock for pistol rounds, Deagle for one-tap potential in eco rounds.

Deagle = High risk, high reward

Utility Priority

Standard: 2 Flashes, 1 Smoke, 1 HE (skip molly)

Flashes are most important for entries

Utility Loadout Breakdown

2x Flashbangs - Highest Priority

Self-flash into sites. Flash for teammates. Turn impossible duels into favorable ones. Never entry without flashes.

1x Smoke - Medium Priority

Smoke off one crossfire angle or cover plant. Support players usually handle most smokes, but having one is valuable.

1x HE Grenade - Low Priority

Chip damage before entry. Throw at common spots. Can secure kills after initial damage from gunfight.

Pro Tip: Skip the molotov as entry fragger. Flashes provide immediate value for entries. Let support players bring mollies for post-plant and defaults.

Common Entry Fragging Mistakes

What NOT to Do

  • Hesitating: Once committed to entry, you MUST commit fully. Stopping mid-entry gets you and your team killed.
  • Solo entries without utility: Never dry peek into site without flashes. You're not a hero, use your nades.
  • Not communicating: Call utility used, positions seen, damage dealt. Your death is valuable if team gets info.
  • Playing for stats: Your K/D will be lower than AWPers/lurkers. Accept this. Impact > stats.

Best Practices

  • Confident peeking: Pre-aim, peek with purpose, shoot first. Confidence wins duels.
  • Use all utility before death: If you're about to die, throw remaining nades to assist team.
  • Trust your second entry: They're there to trade you. Make yourself tradeable by not overextending.
  • Adapt based on success: If entries failing, change timings or ask for more util from team.

Entry Fragger Training Routine

Becoming a elite entry fragger requires dedicated practice. Here's a daily 45-minute routine:
